Let’s be real – the old-school idea of a “local discount” was mostly just mates rates… for the lucky few who knew the right people. And while that might have worked for some, for others it often felt awkward, unclear, or like you were on the outside looking in.
We created Local Advantage to change that.
Founded in 2015 by Louise Robinson, this little idea started with a big heart – to make locals feel seen. To give people a simple way to enjoy their community without feeling like they had to ask for special treatment. And to say, “Hey, you belong here too.”
At the same time, we saw our local businesses – the heart and soul of our towns – working hard, hustling through the highs and lows, and often spending big on marketing that didn’t always bring real results. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we built a win-win.
Local Advantage connects locals and visitors with amazing small businesses, through meaningful rewards that feel like a little warm hug – not a sales gimmick. We’re not a one-off coupon or flash-in-the-pan promo that brings in a customer once and never again. We’re about building real loyalty – creating lasting, feel-good habits that bring people back again and again, not just for the discount, but for the connection.
